PO Box address

Does anyone have any thoughts, good or bad, on using a PO Box address.
I want to avoid using my home address where possible.

Just a quick thought, if I saw a PO Box address I'd be uneasy with dealing with that company.
What problems do you foresee as regarding your home address?

Depends what line of work you are in. I personally think that they look unprofessional. Most people feel more comfortable doing business with someone if they know where they are. I also didn't want to use my home address. I've used my Accountants address and have paid Royal Mail to redirect all business post to me. However, they made it really difficult, so make sure you plan well agead if you want to do that.

Hi Gavin,
Personnally I wouldn't have a PO box as it looks like your hiding something!
Whats the reason for wanting to not using your home address? I'm sure it would be better than a PO box though.
Through the advice in one of Steve's books I changed my Address on my website from just 55 to Unit 55 so it looks like I'm on a commercial estate of some kind, people don't know and I know when they've got my address from the website, you still get the mail (try it) you could use suite ##.

If you have a website, then anyone with a bit of knowledge can get your address, so IMO it's pointless hiding your address behind a p.o. box
Sparky had a good idea to change it to 'Suite nn' or 'Studio nn' in your website or marketing materials.
Just make sure you put on there "No visitors without prior appointments" or suchlike (depending on what you're doing)
